I have many pretty miniature horses. My favorite is always whoever I'm working with at the time. At this moment, "Handsome" (aka Evil) is my favorite. He's also grown into a truly stunning horse.

I don't own a horse, but I have pictures of the kids riding a pony for the first time. Can I post some of them?

We have 8 mature horses and 3 youngsters. Absolutely you can post pictures of your kids on their first pony ride! Post whatever pictures you like (well... you know... no porn LOL!)

Pretty! Your white one looks quite spirited. The farm looks great, too!

So, these pictures are from Memorial Day weekend. My husband works with a woman who does dressage and also teaches young riders. They invited our family out to do some riding one day. It was the kids first time on a pony that wasn't part of those pay-per-ride booths at the festival (or wherever).

This is my son Dalton. He enjoyed himself, but wasn't quite as into it as my daughter Amelia. While she was still working with the horses, he found a tree to climb. As you can see in the background, the woman had my daughter cleaning out the hooves. She was adamant that if you ride, you help prep the horse. The kids, especially Amelia, dove right into that part, too:

Now, this next one is Amelia riding. I was somewhere else getting my horse ready, so I didn't see this. When we downloaded the pictures, I saw it and said "What were you doing?!" and she calmly said "She said the harder I kick him, the faster he'd go."

NO. FEAR. I love it!

And she was happy that they let her walk the horse back to the barn by herself:

BAHAHAHAHA!! The kid's a natural. Those are wonderful pictures. I hope your daughter gets to spend more time with horses. I think they are good for a woman's free spirit.

OH, and who got to ride the horse your daughter is leading back to the barn? Did she ride both horses?

I would love nothing more than to keep her riding--even just for fun and exercise. I honestly think she'd love every minute of it and have no doubt that if I'd left her at the barn for the day, she'd have done everything that was asked of her. She simply loves animals. However, it's way too expensive for us to consider. I researched it and we just don't have it in our budget--even if we cut back on certain things.

The horse she is leading back is the one I rode. It was a bit smaller than I'd hoped for and it didn't go well (I'll have to tell you my horseback riding stories), but I still loved it. In fact, if we could afford lessons, I'd take them, too.
